Daniel Turner | Studio Founder

The Origin

For years, I existed in the 'suit and tie' world of high-pressure sales—the kind of environment where a bottle of Scotch in the desk drawer was a survival tool, not a celebration. While I understood the business world, I realized I was trading my time for numbers on a spreadsheet, not something real.

The shift to Triad Woodworking & Design began with a simple need: a table for my own home. That single project unlocked a realization that I couldn't ignore. I swapped the white collar for a blue one and discovered that taking raw, premium materials and shaping them into tangible, functional art was far more rewarding than closing a deal ever was.

Today, Triad is a Design Studio focused on precision and intent. I bring the professionalism of my past life—clear communication, reliability, and process—and apply it to the craft of woodworking. No shortcuts, no sales tactics, just honest design and furniture built to outlast us all.

I can honestly say that designing custom pieces here in Aurora, Colorado, is better than any bottle of Scotch ever was.

About Triad Woodworking & Design

Our Legacy

I founded Triad Woodworking & Design in Aurora with a single goal: to stop the cycle of disposable furniture. By combining traditional joinery with modern design logic, I build pieces that aren't just 'furniture'—they are the future centerpieces of your home. Whether it's a batch of handmade planters or a commissioned dining table, every piece is signed, dated, and built to last generations.

Intentionality in Every Cut

To create art. Triad will be a company that designs and creates functional pieces of art, in the form of furniture, that will be legacy grade quality. Primarily serving the Denver Metro Area with nationwide expansion as a goal. We will serve homeowners, renters, and clients that are willing to invest in a custom piece of furniture that not only looks great and functions beyond what is expected, but are also looking for a piece that can remain in the family for generations.

Commissioning a one-of-a-kind piece shouldn’t be a mystery. My process is built on a foundation of radical transparency and a commitment to your specific vision.

It begins with a Visual Design Session—a focused conversation where we move from a general idea to a concrete plan. This is followed by an interactive design phase where we refine the logic, proportions, and timber selection together.

Once we move into the shop, the dialogue continues. Using my studio's Design Brief system, I keep you connected to the build with regular updates and process shots. This ensures the "craftsmanship" phase is never a mystery, but a shared experience. From our first conversation to the final delivery in your home, I prioritize honest service and clear communication, turning the act of creating furniture into a seamless, collaborative journey.

A great build begins long before the first cut; it starts with the selection of the perfect timber. We don’t limit ourselves to a single style because we believe every home has a different voice. Whether you are looking for the rugged, storied character of reclaimed rustic pine, the sophisticated elegance of classic hardwoods like walnut and white oak, or the raw, sculptural drama of a live-edge slab, we have the expertise to bring out the best in the wood.

From the straightest grains to the wildest burls, we source only the finest materials to ensure your vision is translated into a piece that feels exactly right in your space. If you can dream it in wood, we can build it.
